Captain General, GovernourandCommander in chief in and over the Province of North Carolina AndHisMajesty s Honourable Council The Humble Petition of James Hammett of Pacolate River in TryonCountySheweth Your Petitioner in the Month of August 1769 Purchased an Improvementofa Person by the name of James Cole, on the North side ofPacolateRiver and on the 23d of November, in the same Year Entered200 Acresincluding said Improvement, with Mr. Zachariah BullockDuputySurveyour which Your Petitioner believed to be the Lawful andproperway to save his land.
