1). 18401.ged Families of the Pilgrims , page 18, lists his death date as 12 Sep 1687 rather than 22 Sep. This difference is probably the difference betwen the Calendars. John Alden was one of the Pilgrims who left Plymouth, England, on the Mayflower, and sailed to Plymouth, Massachusetts, in 1620. Also on the Mayflower was Priscilla Mullins, and her father, William Mullins. The wedding between John Alden and Priscilla Mullins has been immortalized in The Courtship of Miles Standish , by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, their 3rd great grandson. John Alden and Priscilla Mullins, Pilgrims of the Mayflower, are the 8th great grandparents of Raymond Downing, David L. Downing, Sr., Rudolph A. Downing, Jr., and Jean Downing Wiley. See Families of the Pilgrims , pages 19 20 for a biography. John Alden was the 7th signer of The Mayflower Compact, and the last survivor of the signers. 2).  18401.ged  The book,  Families of the Pilgrims , states Priscilla Mullins died sometime  after 1650 .  John Alden and Priscilla Mullins had at least ten children, my ancestor was their first. The book,  Families of the Pilgrims , indicates an 11th child, no name given. hogge.ged files indicate two other children not verified in the   Families  book.  Theyare  according to Hogge   Zachariah Alden  b. abt 1641, duxbury   d 13 Jan 1688     Disputed by the Mayflower Society    Lydia Alden  b. 3 apr 1652, Duxbury, Married John SPOONER 12 nov  1668. As these two are not verified by other sources, they have notbeen  entere into the database.                 Priscilla Mullins   family line has been claimed to go back through the following lineage.  However, the Mayflower Society disputes the claim.
