2).  Hatshepsut  circa 1520 1483 BC , Egyptian ruler of t h e 1 8 t h Dynasty, daughter of Thutmose I. She married h e r hal f b ro ther, Thutmose II, with whom she coruled Egy p t unti l hi s de ath in 1504 BC. His successor, Thutmos e II I, a so n b y a concubine, was a child at the time an d wa s marrie d t o Hatsheps ut  s daughter by Thutmose II . In 15 03, howev er , she had her self crowned as pharaoh , and rei gned in he r o wn right unti l 1483. Her nomina l coruler wa s Thutmos e III , who ruled alone after her d eath. When Th utmose II d ied in 1479 B.C. hi s son , Thutmos e III, wa s appointed heir . However, Hatshe psut wa s appoin ted reg ent due to the boy   s young age.
