Whenhis parents Levi and Rebecc a Moo d y wen t to g et his body, the Home Guard refused t o tur n ov er hi s body . He was buried some where in th e Big Th icke t Area . The b rother of Jacob s wife swore t hat he wo uld k ill al l of thos e members that participate d in his k illin g and ev idently h e did kill several of t hem. Afte r the d eath of t heir fathe r, Jake and Marand a lived wit h their g randparent s, Levi an d Rebecca Racy Moody. Pos itive proo f of this s tory is lac king, but t hereis som e supportin g evidence. Th e Home Guar d wa s a military org anization i n charge of enfo rcing the c o nscript laws in T exas. The B ig Thicket of Eas t Texas w a s a place of hidi ng for many a voiding military s ervice . Th e names of Jac ob schildre n Jacob and Maranda ar e liste d in the cop y of the Famil y Bible of Levi Mood y . The onl y others li sted except th e children of Lev i an d Rebecca ar e Nancy M oody b.18 Ju l 1868 and Winni e Mood y b.2 Aug 186 2 . N ancy Moody wa s another grandc hild dau ghter of Levi M ood y and Josephin e Dykes . Win nie Moody i s listed in th e h ousehold of All an J. Murre y and Rebecca J . Moody in t he 188 0 census of S an Jacint o Co, TX. Marand a is liste d as a chil d of Jaco b and E . Moody in the 1860 c ensus o f Tyler Co, TX , and Ma rand a and her brother Jacob a re li sted in the house hol d o f their grandparents in the 18 7 0 and 1880 census. T h ei r father is not located in the 1 8 70 or 1880 census , lead i ng to the assumptionthat he wa s d ead. The las t record o f J acob Moody was in the tax ro lls o f Tyler C o, TX in 186 2. Th e name of Jacob s wife, E mily Fe agin , is not certain . Alfr ed Leon Moody son o f Leonard A s a Moody and Ida Le la Bloods worth sent infor mation giv e n by his mother tha t gave her m aiden name a s Feagin. . Tho mas Feagin with hi s wife initia l S. a re in th e 1860 ce nsus of Tyler Co , TX. Jacob Mood y and h is wif e were also i n Tyler Co, T X in 1860. In 185 0 Thom as Fe agin andhis wif e Priny we re in the 1850 censu s o f Co vington Co, AL SH T 153 wit h their daughter, Emil y . L evi Moody and his fam ily wer e also listed in the 18 5 0 c ensus of Covington Co, A L SH T 151 B . Thomas Fag a n and Le vi Moody are also liste d o n the same census pa g e in the 184 0 census of Covingto n Co , AL. Although th i s is not positiv e proof that Emil y wa s the wife of Jac ob , it is probable th at she was. Emil y m ay have died so o n after her husband. Th elma Dixon Eva n s recalls a s a ch ild hearing her grandmothe r Maran da ta lk abou t goin g on train with her brother an d mother t o Ne w Orl eans. M aranda s mother died on the train . Ida Lela Bloodsworth Moody  wife o f Le ona r d As a Moody  gave the name     Feagin to her so n Alf re d Mo ody b efore her death. I found nothing to sup port t h e nam e of Traywick.  In the 1850 census of AL co uld no t f in d a female Tr aywick that was born in 1837 wi th th e firs t i nitial of  E.    Nara Kelley Noble gave he r nam e as Jul ia T raywick, but s he was uncertain.
