Per this source Joseph mig r a t e d to America at a very early age, and was listed as being a Methodist. !Notes The following is taken from Journal Histo r y C R 1 0 0 137 1 April 6, 1830 Feb. 27m 1834. ! Joseph B. Brackenbury was present at the 4th Genera l C o n f erence of the church at Kirtland, Ohio on Friday June 3, 1831 . J a m e s and Edmond Durfee were also present per the minutes of the confe r e n c e kept by John Whitmer, clerk at the conference. The name was mis s p e l led as Brackenberry. ! Elder Joseph Brackenberry was present at the Octobe r 2 5 t h , 1831, general conference of the church held at the dwelli n g o f S i renes Burnet in Orange, Cuyahoga, Ohio. There he was ordained a High P r i e s t by Oliver Cowdery. He spoke and the minutes say he blessed th e n a m e o f the Lord that he could bear testimony of the truth of the Book Of Mo r m o n , and also consecrated all to God, before he was baptized He w a s a l s o determined to go on till the end of his life. ! 31 Dec. 1831 Two High Priests, Edmond Durfee and J o s e p h Brackenbury were missionaries in Amherst, Ohio. Elder Benjamin F o r e J o hnson wrote that Elder Brackenbury was an earnest and powerfull pre a c h e r. !The Book Membership of the Church 1830 1848 shows t h e f o l lowing. Joseph was ordained and Elder 11 Apr 183 1 b y Ol iv e r Cowdery and ordained a High Priest 25 Oct 1 83 1 by Ol iv e r Cowdery. The data showing heras the daughter of G ilbert Dav is i s conclusive .  7  Christ ening data from the IGI, which source was ext r a c ted from bi rth christening records, Mattituck Aquebo q u e P arishes, Suff olk, New York.  8  Per Todd Compton of Santa M onica, Califor nia, Elizab e t h was first baptized into the LDS church on 1 0 April , 18 31 , the same day as her husband , Joseph B. Brack enb ury , b y John Corrill, received a patri archal blessing f r o m Jose ph SmithSr. on 11 Jan, 1840 at t he home of Jab ez D urfee i n Nauvoo, and was endowed 1 Octob er, 1843.  More  11. Elizabeth Davis  Goldsmith   Brackenbury   Durfee   S m i th   Lott , 1791 1876, married Joseph polyandrously bef o r e June 1842, approximately at age fifty or fifty one. S h e h ad martied her first husband, Gilbert Goldsmith, on A pr il 1 3, 1811he died on December 24, 1811, leaving he r wit h on e son. She then married Joseph Brackenbury betwe en 181 5 an d 1819. They converted to Mormonism and had fiv e sons , bu t he died in December 1831 while serving a miss ion. Sh e mar ried Jabez Durfee inMissouri in 1834 and sta yed wit h him u ntil 1844 or 1845. After Joseph Smith  s dea th, sh e marrie d Cornelius Lott for time on January 22, 18 45, bu t the marr iage was short lived. The rest of her lif e she s pent with h er Brackenbury sons in Utah,Missouri , Colorado , California , and Kansas.
