1). Joseph Adair, Sr Thomas1 was born 1711 in County An t r i m , Ireland, and died 1801 in Laurens County, SC. H e ma rr i e d 1 Susanna Long. She was born Abt. 1710. H e marri e d 2 Sarah Lafferty 1732. She was born Abt. 17 10. Notes for Joseph Adair, Sr Joseph was installed as an elder in Duncan s Creek Pres b y t e rian Church in 1776. Served this church as an elde r f o r f or ty years. He is buried in the church cemetary. At age 70 Joseph was a soldier in the Revolutionary A r m y . H e is listed on a marble tablet placed by the DA R o n t h e fro nt inside wall of Duncan s Creek Presbyteri an C hur c h and i s listed on a comissary expense list fo r Colo ne l Ca sy s Regiment on January 06, 1786. Joseph made and filed his will in the Court House at La u r e n s in 1788.
