Tennessee records indicate Nancy Thornton took posses s i o n o f Indian lands at the Southwest point of Roane Co un t y , Tenn essee in 1816. This was near the Indian Tradi n g Po s t run b y Jonathan Meigs and is in now what is kno w n as M ei gs Count y, but at that time it was Roane Count y . John T hor nton ha d a deed for land in Rhea County, adjacent to Roane Count y . A c c ording to those records, he died in 1849. In Starr s Gosaduisga 1 x family group Nancy is lis t e d a s s imply Nancy , the daughter of Go Sa Du I Sga . I d prev ious ly had her listed as Nancy Go Sa Du I Sg a bu t h er corr ect s urname would be Scott.
