Governor & Capt. General in and over the said stake in the sum of Fifty pounds Current money, To whichpayment will and truly to be made to the said Richard Carswell and to his Successors, We bind ourselves our heirs Ex.rs, Adm.rs ? firmly by those prospects ? , Sealed with our seals and date the 23rd day of August Anno Dom 1779 The condition of the above obligation is such that whereas there is a marriage shortly to be solemnized and had between the above bound Edward Pegram.. and Patty Jean both of the above in said County, Now if there be no lawful cause to obstruct thesaid marriage then the above obligation to be void else to remain in full power force & virtue.
