1). BIOGRAPHY Joseph and wife Dorothy arrived in Ipswich in New England a year or two after their sons John and Joseph. He lived in Ipswich where he owned a house and several parcels of land. In his will written the 24 of the 2nd month Apr? he called himself Planter and left Dorothy his house and lott and out buildings, another piece of property he had purchased from widow Perkins, a cow and bedding. In addition he left her Doctor Prestons Works and Mr. Dykes, her bible, an ax and a hoe and for her life time, 1 2 of the grass of the marsh that he left son John. He left Joseph his best cloak. He left his daughter Hannah his Bible. To son John he left my other house lott with out buildings plus other land, a barn , marsh, all his apparell ungiven , aswell as other items. Dorothy was executrix. The will was probated at Ipswich 7th month, 29 day in 1646. The witnesses were Roger Lanckton, Wm Gudderson and James Chute. J. Howard Morse, MORSE GENEALOGY, 1903
