1). bobspu.ged Herbert George was on the crew of an airplane that caught fire during flight. It had been reported defective the day before and was reportedly repaired . The crew bailed out with parachutes. Herbert George s parachute safely opened. The airplane exploded in the air, and he was struck by flying debris. He lived several days, but never regained conciousness. He was with the 65 Bombardier Squadron. Source Janet Emberton Aug 1997
2). bobspu.ged It was reported that Clara could never accept the death of Herbert George. She came to Missouri to to visit George s father, Tim but didn t get to see him due to his failing health.
