NOTES
1). bobspu.ged Janet Graham Box 15382 Lakewood, Colorado March 23, 1998 Thankyou for your letter and the photocopies of the 1877 tax records of Jefferson County which list O. Ostrander. I am enclosing two family tree charts that identify the descendants of Peter S. Ostander and Daniel N. Ostrander. Learning more about the children of these two men is my hope....but I would also be interested in other Ostrander records if they describe an event taking place before 1940. Could your search for newspaper articles on these items? 1. An obit or newspaper article about the August 1890 death of E. L. Ostrander. Ellis Ostrander 2. Article on Harry W. Ostrander s death in 1947 in Golden Would like to learn names of his parents grandparents. 3. Rocky Mountain News carried article concerning gunfight involving EllisOstrander in Canon City before 1880. Albert Ostrander was born February 1877 in Jefferson County or Clear Creek County. He had two daughters Shirley and Lenore. Born 1910 and 1916. If the girls married, it must have been in 30 s & 40 s. is there any record of their marriages? Albert lived in Georgetown and Louisville and Longmont. Othello Reed Ostrander married June 1876 in Georgetown Colorado. Bride was Isabelle Irene Ostrander His children were Bert, Arthur, Ermina, Estelle, Edith, Hazel...born between 1877 and 1895. Anything on the children of Othello would be helpful to me. The 1880 census indicates Othello is in Vasquez Fork, Jefferson County, with wife and 2 sons. The 1880 Clear Creek county census also lists wife and 2 sons in Georgetown. Have you ever heard of Vasquez Fork? I have not been able to determine whereit was. Reuben Glaze married Lilly Ostrander in Georgetown before 1879. I obtained a copy of the cert from the archives in Georgetown. Was there a newspaper article? Hazel Ostrander married Vincent Kelley in Louisville in November 1913. A newspaper article of birth marriage cert. would be valuable. They were my grandparents. Daniel Newcomb DN Ostrander was born Oct 4, 1832 in Madison County NY. He died in Golden. I do not know when. His wife was Ermina Buck Ostrander. Any newspaper obit or articles? Joseph N. Ostrander was born near Granby in 1880. He was a surveyor. He was son of DN. I suspect that his middle name was Newcomb . Mary Ostrander married George MINKS Nov 22, 1885 in Arapahoe County Colorado. My check for $40 is enclosed. My e mail is terencepau@aol.com Terence Kelley 501 South 50th Ave Omaha, NE 68106 may 30 1998 pg 385 2920 In the 1860 census of Whiteside county Illinois taken July 30, 1860 D.N. Ostrander 26, Almira Ermina? Belle 3, Lilla Ann 9 12 Harvey 11. My speculation is that this 11 year old Harvey is the brother of Daniel Newcomb Ostrander. Too old to be his son. The 10th child of Joseph & Irene was Harvey born 1847. Harvey Ostrander is in Hot Sulphur Springs Colorado he died Oct 1886 in Colorado. Source Terrence Terry Kelly Boscobel.ged Sep 1998
