Mow, son of Adam H. and Harriet Mow, was born in Richland Township, Fulton county, Indiana, November 9, 1859 and departed this life November 11, 1932, aged 73 years and 2 days. He has lived his entire life in this community. He was one of a family of nine children, seven of which have preceded him in death. James Samuel Mow of Oregon, being the only living brother. On December 25, 1881 he was united in marriage to Eva Clark, who was taken from him by death March 20, 1918. To this union five sons were given Clarence Lasalle, who died June 3, 1921, Dallas Clayton, Charles Clyde and Leo Clark all of Richland Township and Calvin Dean of Argos,Indiana. One foster daughter, Bernice Clark, passed away July 11, 1921. In earlier life he was a member of the M.E. Church at Richland Center, but after moving to the present farm his membership was moved to the Grandview Evangelical Church. Death was due to acute heart trouble and he was ill only one week. A kind father and a good and generous neighbor has gone from us. He was always ready and willing to give whole hearted aid and sympathy to his family and neighbors. He leaves to mourn his passing, four sons and their families, and many kind neighbors and friends. Compiler s Note The photograph copied from the original, owned by Margarett STEININGER, is of the Adam MOW children in the early 1900 s. The sisters, Anna and Sarah, are standing on the front porch of what appears to be a farm house. The four brothersare seated on the steps. Copying the names from the back of Margarett s photo, compiler has tried to identify the individuals, but may not have them correct. If it is correct, Marion MOW appears to be of no more than average height, perhaps a little short. He is heavy set and although he is wearing a hat with a full brim, his face appears to be somewhat round, clean shaven and of ruddy complexion. He has a rather long narrow nose, as do the others in the photo. His hands, resting on his knees, look large and work toughened. He is wearing a light colored shirt with the collar buttoned and the long sleeves rolled to his elbows, light colored work pants and suspenders. Source Elizabeth Ann Gilchrist Jun 1998

The name and date of the newspaper was not given. OBITUARY Eva LaNora Clark was born in Ohio July 20, 1860, and departed this life March 20, 1918, aged 57 years and 8 months. At the age of four years she, with her parents, moved to Marshall county, Ind. where they resided until the death of her parents, after which she found a home with Geo. Miller, of near Bethel. On Dec. 25, 1881, she was united in marriage to Marion L. Mow. To this union were born five children, whom survive and with the father mourn the loss of a kind and loving companion and mother. The boys names are Clarence Lacell, residing in Michigan Dalls Clayton, Charles Clyde, Calvin Dean, also of Michigan and Leo Clark. She is also the foster mother of Bernice Clark, a niece whose mother died and left her in infancy. She also leavesto mourn her departure a half sister, Hattie Steward, of Marshall county and four brothers, Charles, of Oregon Calvin, William and Thomas, of Fulton county. When yet in her youth she was converted to God and united with the Methodist church at Bethel andhas lived a Christian life until she passed to her reward. After moving to the present home, she with her husband, who was also a member of the same church, transferred their membership to the Grandview Church where she was an active member for 22 years. She has always been deeply interested in the spiritual and moral welfare of her boys as well as otherwise and the neighbors were remembered in her prayers. She was held in high esteem by all who knew her, and the church will miss a faithful member. Butwhat the church militant has lost the church triumphant has gained. I know not what the future hath, Of marvel or surprise Assured alone that life and death, His mercies underlines. And so beside the silent sea, I wait the muffled oar No harm from Him can come to me, On ocean or on shore.
