He was born in Calhoun County, a son of the late Edward E. and Nanni e M. Suttles Norman. He formerly worked at B.F. Goodrich, Akron. He also worked as a timberma n and a pipeliner. He enjoyed beekeeping. Surviving are his wife, Elva E. Smith of Clover fo ur daughters, Jackalea Ice of Spencer, Sharon Sue Scott of Williams Road, Va., Jean King of Parkersburg and ClaraKnowles of Allegheny, N.Y. three sons, David Norman, Larry Kin g and Gary King, all of Spencer three sisters, Gracie Bird and Hallie Trail, both of Akron , and Ocie Brock of Tice, Fla. three brothers, Winnie Norman and Hugh Norman, both of Akron, andElmore Norman of Spencer 12 grandchildren and one great grandson. He was preced ed in death by one infant daughter, Mildred Norman four sisters, Tempie Chitty, Jennie Salis bury, Osvie Norman and one infant and two brothers, Orland Norman and David Norman. Services were held at Taylor Vandale Funeral Home, Spencer, with Evangelist Larry Haught offi ciating. Burial was in Eventide Cemetery, Spencer. 1 female child died
