NOTES
1). Of Fairchurch Wadhurst Sussex. 2 miles from the Lamberhurst Iron Works. Lamberhurst Furnace 7 miles from Tunbridge Wells, built by a Mr Benge before 1700 and visited by Princess afterwards Queen Anne and the Duke of Gloucester. Mr Benge failed and the business passed into the hands of Peter Gott who let it out to other gentlemen of the county. It was one of the principle furnaces in England where cannon were cast. The iron balustrades and the seven gates around St Paul s Cathedral were cast here & cost£11202.
2).  LDS says buried 11 Feb 1732 Nave Church, Street ?  Gott  s House  at Street  6 miles from Lewes  was pulled down about 1650, the name still clings to the land.
