General Notes (Husband)
[WATERSMAIN.FTW]
When I received the information on this John W. Waters, there was no documentation. The line, as I was told, was established through tax documents. I personally do not have proof of that but along with other information, it fits.
With new information that was received, the following scenario would not be possible. However, I will leave this information here as one possibility.... _____________________________________________________________ Here is one scenario: We have John W. Waters b1720 and a sibling shortly after. For speculation let's say, about 1722.
John W. has John Calvin b1740 while he was at the age of 20. The sibling, let's call him Isaac also. Isaac has Isaac b1744 while he was at about the age of 22. John Calvin has gone his own way and is raising a family.
In the mean time, John W. around 1768, moved to Statesboro, GA and opened a sawmill. His wife having died, he remarried again and before 1770 moved back to Beaufort County, NC where his Isaac was born in 1770. John W. died in 1775. During the same period, his nephew (Isaac) had married and bore a son Isaac in 1770 also in Beaufort County, NC. Now we have two Isaac's born the same year and in the same county.
John W.'s Isaac married Aracy ? (from Wilkes County)). Isaac's Isaac married Pricella. This Isaac also became involved with the Militia as is recorded.
John's Isaac, that married Aracy, moved to Bullock County, GA. I am not certain where the other would have gone but I think it was someplace in SC.
This speculation is based on the data that I have seen on the Internet and is only a guess.
John W. may have been married twice. That would explain the age difference between the two sons, John C. and Isaac. __________________________________________________________________________ _______ John W. Waters moved to GA around 1767 and opened a sawmill NW of Statesboro, GA at one mile from Poor Robin on the Savannah River. He owned 150 acres there and other land. The amount of time he spent there is unknown but he apparently moved back to NC and died there in 1775.

John Waters (middle name may have been Calvin) may have been the father rather than the brother of Isaac Waters, Sr. taking into consideration the difference in birth years.

BURIAL: Stuevely Cemetary, Duchouquet Township, Auglaize County, Ohio.
BIOGRAPHY: William P. Morey as son of Abraham Morey has not been proven by vital records or other independent sources. The relationship was described by Claire Sherwood in her Morey research based on circumstantial evidence and has been accepted by others. However, William P. was not listed as one of the "children heirs-at-law" in legal proceedings in connection with Abraham's estate. The issue remains unsolved.
BIOGRAPHY: Family Rememberance: Jay Dewey Morey, grandson of William P. Morey, responded to the question. "Do you know the names of the brothers and sisters of William P. Morey an dany dates and places of death?" with this information, "The names of William P. Morey's sisters and brothers: Asa Morey, Ashtabula Co., Ohio; Stillman Morey, Iowa;John Franklin Morey, Iowa;Samantha married a Scott, Licking Co.;Polly married a Briggs;Laura married a Wheeler, Buckland, Auglaize Co., Ohio;Norma married a Tracy, lived near Lima, Ohio".
BIOGRAPHY: Family Rememberance: In response to the question, "You sent me the names of Wm. P. Morey's brothers and sisters. How were you able to get that information? Jay Dewey Morey(grandson of William P. Morey) responded, "I got this information thru a cousin Jane Morey of Lima, Ohio, who now is about96 years old. It was dictated by an Uncle Wilson Morey, my father's brother.
BIOGRAPHY: Biographical Sketch (1969): "The attempt to trace backward the lineage of William P. Morey, born in Vermont, 16 August 1814, (family record) died in Auglaize Co., Ohio, 14 March 1852, has been difficult chiefly because of the loss of Licking Co., Ohio records where the family lived in the late 1820'sand 1830's. In conclusions reached in this report, weight has been placed on census records, cemetary inscriptions, and strong clues inherent in published material of Licking and adjoining Knox County on other members of the family."
BIOGRAPHY: Biographical Sketch (1969): "Family records show that William P. Morey married Rebecca Patterson at some time prior to 1836 when their first child was born. Since marriage records are lost in Licking Co., we must conclude she was the daughter of the only Adam Patterson of Burlington Township, a near neighbor. The young couple removed to Moulton Township of Allen Co., Ohio, which when Auglaize Co., was set off in 1848, fell in the new county. Seven children were born to them before his accidental death in 1852 at the age of thirty-seven.
BIOGRAPHY: 1814 Birth: "William P. Morey was born August 16, 1814" is recorded in the Family Bible, passed down by his wife Rebecca Patterson Moreyto her grandson Jay Dewey Morey.
