He had four young children under the age of ten years. He was a carpenter by trade, but also worked in the oil fields. The young family was moved to Texas in 1932. Homer worked for a while for a man who owned a mattress company in Gregg Co. TX. Later the man opened a furniture store. Homer then took the family and moved on to an oil lease where he built a shotgun house for his family. Homer continued to work in the oil fields the rest of his life. He also at one time raised rabbits for sale while they lived in West Texas.

Mary Adaline died after the birth of her fifth child. She had been aided in birth by a doctor who had been drinking and did not wash up thereby scratching her lining and setting up blood poisoning. She was a beautiful young woman who by the time of her death aged a great deal. She had her long hair cut while she was pregnant with her last child and the braid of her hair is in the possession of Mary W. Glenn. She did not have an easy life. She was left an orphan at the age of four years and raised by a strict maternal set of grandparents and an unmarrried aunt.She must have met Homer at a church function or through one of her cousins. I have never been able to really find out from anyone that might have known. Marriage record; death certificate; family knowledge.

John's brother Robert Kennedy was shot dead in June 1968, while campaigning in Los Angeles for the Democratic presidential nomination. JFK Junior was born in November 1960, not long after his father John F Kennedy was elected president, and is known to millions of Americans by his nickname "John John".
The lasting memory of JFK Junior is of him as a tiny child - on his third birthday - proudly saluting the coffin of his assassinated father.
The image of the little boy in the blue coat has remained for many Americans a key image in the post-war era.
Unlike many of the Kennedy clan, he was not involved directly in politics.
Instead he became a national figure in the United States because of his name, a role he did not always feel comfortable with.
"The answers to the most frequently asked personal questions are as follows: Yes, no, we're merely good friends, none of your business, honest she's my cousin from Rhode Island, I've worn both, maybe someday but not New Jersey," he once said.
Media ambitions
John F Kennedy Junior spent much of his life in public service, working for underprivileged youth, the homeless and the disabled. For the last few years he worked in the media.
A handsome law-school graduate, although he struggled to pass his exams, he was best known for launching George, a glossy US political magazine.
After graduating from Brown University, he went to law school and joined the Manhattan district attorney's office.
The law did not hold much appeal for him and in 1995 he launched the magazine which was subtitled "not just politics as usual".
His mother, who died five years ago, was an important influence and it was she who vowed to give him a normal family life.
As a bachelor he was once voted the sexiest man alive. He married in 1996 to his long-term sweetheart Carolyn Bessette - a PR advisor for Calvin Klein.
According to Aviation Week, JFK Junior earned his private pilot's licence at Flight Safety International, a respected US flight school, in Florida.
Kennedy wedding
Mr Kennedy was going to the wedding of a cousin Rory - the daughter of the late Senator Robert F Kennedy, in Hyannisport.
The wedding, due to take place on Saturday before 275 guests, was postponed as the search began.
Family members gathered at the home of Rory's mother, Ethel Kennedy, with about 50 people and three priests.
They prayed "for the safety of their loved ones'' said family spokesman Brian O'Connor.
President Bill Clinton, who is spending the weekend at Camp David in Maryland, was told about the disappearance of the Kennedy plane by his chief of staff early on Saturday.
Press Secretary Joe Lockhart said the president was being kept informed of the progress of the search.
Long before that another brother of President Kennedy had died in a plane crash in 1944 and his sister killed in another plane crash in 1948. A second sister was forced into a mental home by the Kennedy's overbearing father, Joseph.
A year and a half ago, further tragedy hit the family when Michael Kennedy, one of the nephews of the late President, was killed in a skiing accident.
And Michael's brother died of a drugs overdose in 1984.
