1). The Claypoole Family has the following note Joseph has become the catchall father for several unattached Claypoole males based on circumstantial evidence rather than the solid genealogical facts one would like. James birthplace is consistently recorded as Virginia, yet the Claypoole circumstantial evidence would put his birth about 1820, when Joseph is assumed to have been living in Tennessee. The name Rebecca, chosen for their 2nd daughter makes the case stronger that James was the son of Joseph and Rebecca. RESI ALT BIRTH Y
