Craig and Roberta Blake Barnum, states Nay, John wife, Hale, Thirza Angelina born 23 Feb 1814, Brandon, Rutland, VT, to Dixie in 1862 from Pine Valley, UT next line Nay, JohnPine, Thankful Lucy, 4 Nov 1830 Stockholm, S.L., NY to Dixie 1862 from Pine Valley, UT Marriage date 1859 in Springville, UT. We know that the information about Thirza coming to Dixie is incorrect, and Dr. Craig and Mrs. Barnum cannot find the verification for this record. On the female Pioneer Index it states that Thankful Lucy came to Dixie in Dec 1861 from St. George, UT. LDS Baptism note Baptized by Eli P. 2). Thirza apparently gave a Bible to her son, Ormus B. Nay. Inside the cover of this Bible is an inscription from Thirza Angelina Marly to her son Ormus B. Nay. Copied from Family Group Record 15 Jul 1992. Thirza Angelina Hale, the first wife of John Nay Jr., left John and children, when the latter part of her family was still young. She ran off with a soldier and was not heard from again. Because of Thirza s actions to her family, the Church excommunicatedher from the records of the church. Seal to Parents @I47996@
