NOTES
1). bobspu.ged BIO In October, 1997, compiler s husband contacted John W. O DELL on behalf of compiler, requesting corrections and or additional data on John s family and that of his parents and siblings. John responded about two weeks later, returning compiler s printed family group sheets with his added notes plus a letter containing some of the family traditions concerning this branch of the O DELL family and that of his mother, Alna Billie WILLIAMS O DELL. One item of special interest to compiler, was the particulars on the birth of John s mother at Ellis Island. John shared the story, as he remembered, that his grandparents came to the U.S. as indentured servants. Per tradition, this couple lived and married in one of the Midwestern States IOWA or NEBRASKA.They later returned to EUROPE. When they came back to the U.S., John s grandmother gave birth to a set of twins while going through processing to re enter the country at Ellis Island. Per that story, Billie and her twin sister, Alma WILLIAMS, were thefirst twins born at Ellis Island. John was also able to correct some of compiler s childhood memories of stories she had heard concerning how John s parents met during WW I. He also corrected compiler s erroneous chronological arrangement of the birthsof John and his siblings. He provided the name of his maternal grandfather, and added recent data to the biographies of his own children. REF 1.
