1). hurr01.GED jean.FTW Leonard was first married to Annie Martha Wightman on 26 th of November 1888 at St Annes church in the parish of Islington Middlesex. The residence of both is stated as Palmerston Rd. Her father,s name is Thomas Wightman We do not know the reason why heleft Annie .I have been told that a son was born to her and I believe he was named Charles John .Iwas told that he was the Medical Officer for Devon . My grandad was a butcher and he had a shop in Peckham .He had moved there with Rose Jones My Mother,her sister Ivy and her brother Harry were born in Peckham. His shop was called JAMES LAIDMAN even though his name was Leonard.! .From there they moved to Clapham to another Butchers shop and the street was called the Pavement From there finally tothe butchers shop in Galesbury Rd.Wandsworth where Peggy and Charles John Wag were born. The billheads read JAMES LAIDMAN BUTCHER .PURVEYOR TO HM.PRISONS ESTABLISHED 1888. On our Mothers wedding certificate he is noted as a Master Butcher . Grandad Laidman was buried at Magdalen Road Cemetery. LONDON?
2). hurr01.GED jean.FTW When Rose Jones was a young girl living in Bermondsey she worked at the Pearce Duffs Custard factory in Bermondsey.The birth certificate states the address for residence as 10,Alexis Street,Bermondsey.After her husband died in St.James hospital London in1939 Rose my grandmother was alone .During the early part of World war 2 her daughter Peggy with her young children were evacuated to Dorset so Nan went with them.While Nan was bathing the children,young Patsy stepped on an upturned tin lid and Nan suffered a fatal heart attack with the shock!
